Great to meet you!
Award-Winning Southwest Landscape Artist, Oil Painter, and Professional Art Instructor
For more than 50 years, Linda Glover Gooch has inspired collectors with dramatic Southwestern landscapes and helped thousands of artists develop stronger painting skills through workshops, online courses, and mentorship.
My Creative Journey....
My creative journey began at the age of 13 when I received my very first set of oil paints. More than 50 years later, oil remains my favorite medium—a lifelong companion that continues to challenge, inspire, and reward me with every painting.
Over the decades, my easel has traveled countless miles through the breathtaking landscapes of the American Southwest and beyond. From the vast desert vistas of Arizona to winding canyon trails, majestic mountain ranges, expansive clouds, quiet forests, and peaceful coastlines, each destination has deepened my appreciation for the beauty of God's creation. Every painting is more than a landscape—it is a memory, an emotion, and a moment in time that I hope others can experience through my work.
As my career evolved, my passion for painting naturally expanded into another calling: teaching. Sharing what I've learned over a lifetime of painting has become one of the greatest joys of my career. Through workshops, online courses, demonstrations, and mentoring, I strive to help artists discover their unique creative voice, strengthen their technical skills, and gain the confidence to express what they see and feel. There is nothing more rewarding than watching a student grow, overcome challenges, and create paintings they never thought possible.
For those who collect my work, my hope is that each painting becomes more than a beautiful piece of art. I want it to transport you to a special place, awaken a cherished memory, or capture a feeling that speaks to your heart. Whether it's the glow of sunlight across a desert landscape, the quiet strength of distant mountains, or the ever-changing drama of the sky, my desire is to create paintings that bring peace, inspiration, and lasting beauty into your home for generations to come.
After more than five decades as an award-winning professional artist, I remain as inspired today as I was when I opened that first box of oil paints at thirteen. Every new canvas is another opportunity to celebrate the beauty of the world around us and to share that joy with collectors and fellow artists alike.
Why I do what I do
Today, I proudly call Arizona home, where I continue pursuing my lifelong passion for painting while embracing the many roles that have shaped my life. Of all the titles I've been blessed with, my favorite is Grandma, affectionately known as "Gigi."
Family has always been at the heart of everything I do. Just as I've encouraged artists to develop their talents and pursue their creative dreams, I strive to inspire my children and grandchildren to believe in themselves, follow their passions, and never stop learning. I want them to know that with faith, perseverance, and hard work, they can build a life filled with purpose and joy.
More than the paintings I create, the greatest legacy I hope to leave is one of encouragement, creativity, and the confidence to dream big. If future generations are inspired to pursue their own unique path—whether through art or another passion—then I know I've left something far more valuable than anything that could ever hang on a wall.
